Cilla Benjamin

Cilla Benjamin is an Industrial Engineer with more than 12 years combined experience in manufacturing, business development and tertiary education.  She is an experienced Lean Manufacturing Instructor, having taught Lean Manufacturing Systems to 45 persons employed in the manufacturing and energy sectors within the last two years.  She has conducted Diagnostic Assessments at local companies and Rapid Plant Assessments in a range of different manufacturing companies in Venezuela and the Dominican Republic.  Ms Benjamin also has an MSc in Production Engineering and Management from the UWI and an MSc in Industrial Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Management delivered by the Cambridge Institute for Manufacturing (IfM) on behalf of UTT.  Ms Benjamin is currently a Part-Time Tutor at UTT and a member of The Institute of Industrial Engineers in Norcross, Georgia where she has benefited from advanced training in Lean Manufacturing.  She is also trained in Business Service Facilitation in Glasgow (Springfield, 2004) and Brussels (CDE, 2004).

Durwyn Duncan

Durwyn Duncan is a Six Sigma Green Belt and a Lean/Kaizen Associate.  He is currently a Quality Engineer at Trane Commercial Air-Conditioning Systems (TCS) in Clarksville, Tennessee.  He is responsible for day-to-day product quality of final product and individual fit, finish and functionality of all components.

Previous to this he functioned as a Quality Engineer, for Electrolux Home Products; now Husqvarna Yard Products - Outdoor Division, manufacturer of Sears Craftsman, Husqvarna, Poulan, Weed Eater Lawn / Garden Tractors and Tillers in Orangeburg, South Carolina where he developed new components (patented) and improved existing designs to improve customer satisfaction and overall product reliability using Engineering ASTM standards.

Mr. Duncan, a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and American Society for Quality (ASQ), was the top Mechanical Engineering student graduating in his year at the South Carolina State University.


Clement Bobb

Clement Bobb is a manufacturing consultant with an MSc in Manufacturing Engineering Technology (UK) and a Bachelor of Business Administration (UWI, Cave Hill).  He delivered training on “Manufacturing and the SME” to 140 participants at seven (7) NEDCO venues in 2007.  The training covered topics such as:  ‘The Evolution of Manufacturing',‘Manufacturing Today’, ‘The challenges that face T&T’, ‘Introduction to Value Chain Analysis’, ‘Planning in Manufacturing’ and ‘An Introduction to Lean Manufacturing’.  Mr. Bobb is at present involved in the strategic planning and project implementation of the National Agri-Business Development Plan in Tobago.  The project implementation phase involves an industry upgrade element which will result in ninety (90) micro-manufacturers being exposed to training in Lean Manufacturing techniques and process and product innovation.
